Responsibilities:
The Transport Team is a leading provider of finance for transport infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS. It finances projects in both the private and public sectors in all areas of transport including roads, railways, airports and aviation, ports and shipping, but with a focus in the Russian Federation on private sector projects and public private partnerships, which require close co-operation with government counterparts.  The Transport Team is active across all of the Bank’s countries of operations. 

The Principal Banker will be responsible for making a contribution to the development and management of the Team’s project portfolio and will work throughout the whole project life cycle of the Bank.  This will be accomplished through project origination, screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, preparation of documentation, monitoring and disposal (if applicable) of projects.

The Principal Banker would be expected to take responsibility increasingly for complex transactions.  They would also further develop their project origination skills and should gain exposure to a variety of products and activities, including equity instruments.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
·       Assist the Bank’s policy dialogue with relevant government and business contacts on selected issues/projects
·       Undertake marketing and project origination activities; identify good quality transactions meeting the Bank’s requirements
·       Execute new transactions, existing projects and proactively engage in the oversight of these projects 
·       Liaise and work with other departments, coordinating their involvement in the project as required 
·       Structure investment vehicles that are suitable for the investment objectives and strategy 
·       Review complex legal agreements 
·       Prepare and present concept, structure and final review documents to the Operations Committee 
·       Review and own quality control of financial and other due diligence analysis 
·     Attend meetings of investors and represent the Bank accordingly, including investment committees and advisory boards
·    Actively participate in the monitoring of investments including preparation of regular monitoring reports, managing client relationship, recommendation of disbursements, waivers etc and resolve issues, for a given region or sector
·      Provide guidance and coaching to more junior bankers and analysts - becoming fully involved in the detailed processing work, as and when required.
Requirements:
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Good relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education (e.g. business administration, economics, finance)
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant and commercial work experience (e.g. banking, finance, accounting, audit or project finance), gained from a major commercial/investment bank, equity fund, advisory services or corporate finance firm
Thorough understanding of credit, investment and financial analysis and their application in investment decisions and transaction structuring
Proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards
Ability to manage and push through transactions to their conclusion
Sound decision making and problem resolution skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities while retaining ability to participate in teams
Computer literacy, excellent spreadsheet skills
Prior working experience and knowledge of the business environment
Very good written and oral communication skills in English
Fluency in Russian

Desirable
Fluency in one or more languages of our countries of operation and/or a major international language and / or work experience in emerging markets, including Central / Eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, Balkans, Central Asia or Mongolia.
